Fire protection glass

  • Fire protection glazing is prescribed to meet structural fire protection requirements in the German model building code and/or regional building codes. It is used to prevent fire spreading from one fire compartment to another. In addition, it protects escape routes and staircases from fire and smoke, to ensure a safe exit from buildings in the event of a fire.

    Fire protection glass is also prescribed in the case of structures abutting property lines and where there is not much space between buildings. Fire protection glass can be used vertically and horizontally.

    Fire protection glass from Arnold Glas offers the following benefits:

    The fire protection glass ISOLAR ARDOREX®  ARNOLD-FIRE®  is a fire safety glass in the F(EI) class. In conjunction with fire resistant glazing, it prevents the spread of fire, heat radiation and smoke. Fire protection glazing consists of a fire protection glass, a frame and all fixings and connections.

    In the event of a fire, the pane facing the fire shatters and through the controlled evaporation of water the pane facing away from the fire is cooled. This ensures that in the specified time of 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes, no point on the glass exceeds a temperature increase of more than 180°K at an individual point or 140°K as an average.
